DO I NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
We offer a range of workshops suited to all levels.
Whether you've never touched a tool before, have a little experience or are at a more advanced level - we've got a workshop to suit any level.
Make sure you read the description of the workshop and requirements before signing up.
DO I NEED TO BRING TOOLS ALONG
All the tools you will need will be provided at the workshop.
We also provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to keep you safe.
You will need to wear closed toe shoes (no jandals, crocs or sandals) & have long hair tied back.
WHERE ARE THE WORKSHOPS HELD?
We currently run workshops at the MenzShed in Arrowtown.
WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THE WORKSHOPS?
Each workshop is different.
'Intro to Tools' is where you'll learn at a beginner level how to safely use a range of hand tools and power tools. You'll use these skills to build a bird house that you can take home.
'Intro to Carpentry' is the intermediate workshop where you'll use your newfound knowledge and upskill to a more advanced project.
'Woodturning' is an art - you'll learn the basics of how to shape wood on a lathe with a range of workshop & project options.
WHAT DAYS & TIMES ARE AVAILABLE?
Workshops are daily Monday through to Saturday.
We run the workshops as a 6 week block. When you register for a workshop you will have the option of which day and time suits you.
Eg. If you sign up for the Wednesday 6pm slot then you'll be committing to Wednesdays at 6pm for 6 weeks.
Workshops are 2 hours long.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN A WORKSHOP & WHAT CAN I DO IF MY CHOSEN TIME IS ALREADY FULL?
For safety reasons workshops are limited to 6-10 women based on whether its a beginner, intermediate or advanced level.
There are serious risks involved with using power tools so groups are kept on the small side in order to keep an eye on everyone.
If your chosen workshop is full, check if there's space in another time that suits otherwise please keep an eye on our socials & the website to book in when we release spots for the next round.
